BeadWORKS Production Manager

Salma Lekoomet’s work involves overseeing production staff management and artisans, overall quality control and customer relations, and implementing entrepreneurs’ leadership and conservation training.

She obtained her Bachelor’s in Entrepreneurship Studies from Moi University and began her career as a Quality Control Officer for BeadWORKS. Salma worked her way up to the position of Assistant Production Manager and now holds the role of Production Manager, demonstrating her hard work and commitment to her profession.

Salma, a native of northern Kenya, is a driven individual with a strong passion for empowering women in her community. Her unwavering commitment to the cause is evident in the work she has put in over the last six years. She has been working closely with women beaders who rely on their craft to earn a living. Salma strives to ensure that these women’s needs are met while also catering to the demands of local and international customers. The women beaders have improved their production processes, expanded their customer base, and ultimately increased their income.

Salma takes pride in the positive impact that BeadWORKS has had on the lives of over 1,200 artisans by providing them with sustainable livelihoods.
